Stories & Characters inspired by Taylor Swift's Long Live
Lilah and Andrew are two of my original characters. Lilah is a princess of a kingdom, and she hates being a princess. She always longs for an adventure. Andrew is a thieving peasant who always finds trouble of some kind to get into. This page is for their adventures and drawings of them. I own them, no stealing please.
Song that inspired these OCs:
Long Live - The Story Beginning
Lilah sat on her window seat and looked out over the glowing kingdom below her. I wish I could go out in the town, go on a real adventure for once. She thought longingly as her cheek pressed against the glass. Interrupting her brooding silence, Trina, her handmaid, bustled in with arms full of boxes. “Princess, your new gowns have arrived!” she exclaimed in a singsong voice, placing the boxes with great care on a wooden table.
“Thank you Trina.” Lilah said blandly as she looked at the boxes bulging with ruffles of fabric.
Trina curtsied and exited the room. Lilah looked at the heap of boxes and got a sour taste in her mouth. She hated wearing big ruffled dresses that suffocated her with their corsets, and buried her in fabric. Abandoning the boxes, she took back her seat by the window and looked out over the kingdom and the glistening waves of the ocean under the setting sun. Then, suddenly an idea hit her. I could sneak out of the castle! Go on an adventure! The thought was preposterous, but it was possible. The longer she pondered on the subject, the more she warmed up to the idea. She jumped up and ran to her closet. A hard time it was, finding a simple enough dress as to not draw attention to her. Aha! She pulled free of its hanger a simple white dress with a brown corset and long sleeves. Perfect. She thought, and changed into it as quickly as she could.
Pulling tight the last cord on her corset, she was ready. Yanking on her boots and pulling on her hooded cloak, she moved as quickly as possible. Finally, when she was completely ‘ordinary’, she grabbed her sack full of coins from her vanity and quietly opened the big double doors. Wincing as they squeaked, she edged away from her room, tiptoeing down the hallway. Just as she was going to round a corner, she froze. A dim light flickered from where two guards where keeping watch of the king and queen’s room. Cursing her stupidity, Lilah peeked behind the corner. To her relief, the guards were sound asleep, resting on their spears. Ha, if only father would hear of this, guards sleeping on the job! He would banish them from the castle in an instant. Tiptoeing ever so quietly, she edged her way past the slumbering men, and into a safe distance down the hall.
